DESCRIPTION
BULB:

with fimbriate projections on both surfaces. Stamens converging; filaments 1-12
mm, glabrous, yellowish-green; anthers ~6 mm; pollen yellow. Ovary ~10 x 3-6 mm.
Style 4-6 mm; stigma 3-4 mm. Capsule yellow, tinged purple on ribs, 28-35 x
20-25 mm. Seeds immediate epigeal germination. Flowering time ~June. 2n=48.

Tepalen blass purpurn, purpurrot oder gelb, selten weiss, mindestens ein blauer Klon, ohne oder mit tief purpurnen Punkten; äussere
elliptisch, 25-27 x 10-12 mm; innere etwas breiter; Nektarien
beidseitig mit bewimperten Anhängseln. Stamina zusammenneigend; Filamente
1-12 mm, klebrig, gelblich-grün; Antheren ~6 mm; Pollen gelb. Ovar ~10 x
3-6 mm. Stylum 4-6 mm; Narbe 3-4 mm. Kapsel gelb, purpurn überlaufen an
den Rippen. Samen sofortige oberirdischen Keimung. Blütezeit ~Juni. 2n=48.

CULTURE NOTES: Prefers cool conditions with
humus rich, acidic soils with light shade; does best if undisturbed and needs up
to 5 or 6 years from seed to flower.

KULTURHINWEISE: Bevorzugt kühle
Standorte mit humosen, sauren Standort im Halbschatten; am besten über
Jahre ungestört benötigt sie 5-6 Jahre vom Samen bis zur ersten
Blüte.

rather as L. euxanthum; however, L. nanum var.
flavidum has its leaves mostly reaching
above the flowers, L. euxanthum, instead, not. / Tepalen gelb, mehr oder weniger ohne Punkte.
Einige Autoren halten diese Var. für L. euxanthum;
allerdings überragen bei L. nanum var. flavidum
die oberen Blätter die Blüte, bei L. euxanthum
im Allgemeinen nicht.
